Low Noise Pre-Amplifiers
Low Noise Pre-Amplifier and companion external low noise amplifier (LNA) are used to amplify low level microwave signals. The Pre-Amplifier contains an AC/DC power supply, internal low noise amplifier, and a bias tee to source a DC bias voltage on the RF input connector. To overcome cable loss between the test antenna and the Pre-Amplifier assembly, a remote low noise amplifier (LNA) is mounted directly onto the 10 GHz antenna. A bias tee inside the Pre-Amplifier chassis powers the remote LNA through the coax cable interconnecting the pre-amplifier and the 10 GHz test antenna.

Power modules
G.R.A.S. Sound & Vibration A/S
It provides polarization voltage for the transducer, ensuring that the microphone gets the charging voltage it needs. It provides supply voltage for the microphone preamplifier. The preamplifier acts as a unity gain impedance converter. It provides a certain amount of line drive capability by providing a low output impedance and output current, making it possible to transmit the signal from the transducer to the Power Module without significant degradation.A power module can provide amplification or attenuation to the signal, thus making it possible to fine tune the measurement chain to the signals being measured and the hardware being used.Selectable filters make it possible to exclude unwanted noise from the measurement, e.g. wind induced noise from outdoor measurements.Overload detection makes it possible to validate the measurements and is a useful tool in monitoring setups. When a Power Module with gain is used, you can use longer cables because of the power module's ability to deliver current.A Power module introduces electrical isolation

Preamplifiers
A.H. Systems'' Preamplifier line is an excellent choice with a rugged design, no hassles with soldering your own power leads and they improve overall system sensitivity by at least 20 dB. All of A.H. Systems'' Preamplifiers come with a 12-volt (or 15-volt) DC regulated power source. A low voltage indicator confidently allows you to power the amplifier with your own external 12-volt DC battery. This makes it a convenient choice for field measurements. See table below for amplifier specifications.

Preamplifiers
LNA Series
Low noise amplifier with 12.5 dB of gain covering the nominal frequency range 1 MHz to 3 GHz and can be used in the range from 200 kHz to 4 GHz. With its high gain and low noise figure, it will significantly increase the sensitivity of virtually all spectrum analyzers and other RF measuring instruments. All measuring instruments have a 'noise figure', which is a measure of how good the instrument is at measuring low level signals, the lower this figure, the better, although the lowest signal level will still be governed by the measurement bandwidth. A typical spectrum analyzer may have a noise figure of 20 dB or more, whereas a typical receiver may have a noise figure of 10 dB. The preamplifier has a noise figure of typically 4 dB, significantly enhancing the low level performance of such instruments, enabling signals that were previously masked by noise to be seen.

Preamplifiers
Com-Power broadband high gain preamplifiers were designed for electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing and certification. EMC test labs use preamplifiers to improve sensitivity of the test system during EMI radiated emissions measurements. Without a high gain preamplifier, signals picked by the antenna that have amplitudes below the noise floor of the test system cannot be measured. The preamplifier gain has minimum variations for the entire operating frequency range for accurate emissions measurements. The Com-Power preamplifiers were primarily intended for EMC applications. However, it can be used for other applications that require signal amplification.

Preamplifier
2721
Pre-amplification is required to protect the output signal of pH and ORP electrodes from a wide variety of electromagnetic interferences common in industrial environments. Signet 2721 is used if remote pre-amplification is required (e.g. tank temperature >80oC) or connecting another manufacturer's electrode to the Signet 5700 or 8750 instrument. The Signet 2721 should be used with special order sensors built with cables (Signet models 277X-HT or 277X-1-HT).
