Improvements in thermo-mechanical processing has yielded improvements of approximately 10,000psi per decade, to the point where the state of the art is now X100 steels, and the use of X120 steels is being considered.

Test Database Software Module
The relational test database is the pivotal point of the software structure. On one hand, this is where the test applications and test systems used for productive testing are stored; on the other hand, it provides the storage space for all DUT-related test data. Depending on customer requirements, the test database may either be hosted locally on the test system or centrally on a server, supporting several test systems. The database performance is sufficient for a high-volume production environment with many test systems which access the central database in parallel. LXinstruments prefers to implement the database as a license-free MySQL database; it is however also possible to realize a version based on Microsoft SQL.

The GX6188 is a 6U PXI, high density matrix, GENASYS architecture switching card. The card provides the user with the ability to connect and interface resources to multiple UUT connections. The board consists of two matrices - a 104x8 and a 8x8 matrix. The GX6188 can connect to 104 UUT switching points, eight external resources and an eight channel global bus via front panel connectors. Multiple GX6188 cards can be connected using the global bus. OTP-Based Test System
Power electronics assemblies often cannot be tested using conventional technology for their electrical performance. Due to the adaptability of the instrumentation, the OTP concept offers an ideal platform even beyond the space requirements of several control cabinets. In order to achieve high test flexibility with different assemblies, the system was equipped with three-phase AC sources and AC loads as well as a precise three-phase power meter. DC sources and loads with different current and voltage ranges cover the test of frequent DUT operating parameters. Time-dependent voltage or current signals can be stimulated by an arbitrary generator with power amplifier. General measurements such as current, voltage, frequency, resistance can be carried out flexibly at various test points using the matrix concept. An oscilloscope with RF multiplexer is available for high-frequency measurements such as residual ripple, switching processes, etc.

Dedicated Testers

Variable Power Supply
VS-10a
The VS-10a power supply is a light weight, portable, non-isolated “variable source” from 0 volts to 150 Vac or 0 volts to 150 Vdc and rated for up to 10 amps, thus the name VS-10a. It is comprised of an illuminated voltmeter that reads to the first significant digit, AC variable system output voltage, DC variable system output voltage, logic output voltage and one sense (continuity) contact monitoring points. Banana jacks for connection of test leads are spaced at intervals that allow the use of dual banana test plugs if desired. The VS-10a is protected by two levels of overcurrent protection; AC input, and ground fault protection by a GFCI. All circuitry is housed inside a custom designed case made from 16 gauge steel. An Internal fan dissipates heat buildup and exhaust through louvered side vents built into the case. The carrying handle is designed with a “spring return to rest” position and is padded for comfort. The case has been sized for optimum portability and is balanced from the handle during transportation. The case has a powder coated finish that is scratch, chemical and weather resistant. Rubber padded feet support the case when in the upright position and a convenience receptacle is located on the side of the case.
